Urban Balcony Gardening (Manchester Portland St)

What you will learn In this short but fact filled course, you will learn how to make the most from a limited outside balcony space and create your very own green oasis in the sky. You will look at how to select suitable plants for urban environments and how to care for your collection so that it provides enjoyment for as long the Great British weather permits!
At the end of the class you should be able to: Plan, select and source suitable plants that will survive a balcony environment as well as understand light, water and feeding requirements of a range of plants. You will also be aware of the health and safety considerations of growing and housing plants at height.
What happens in the class (format/activities) There will be lots of different activities during the classes including discussions on a range of different plants, planting plans and using the internet to identify and source plants and ideas.
Entry requirements No former knowledge of plants and flowers is required.
